Silent Disco makes a loud comeback at 626 Orange County

The second weekend of 626 Night Market at Orange County brought the very exciting return of the silent disco events. Held at the main stage, OC’s silent disco was a sight to see - the three-hour program was filled with sing-alongs, crazy dances, and energetic partying.

Silent disco is an interactive event where guests receive a headset with multiple channels. Each channel is connected to a DJ, allowing different genres of music to play all at once. This makes the party open to everyone with different music tastes, enjoying music together in your own way!

Orange County’s silent disco featured four different genres: Electronic Dance Music (EDM), Hip-hop/R&B throwbacks, Today’s hits, and K-Pop, with six DJs spinning throughout the night; learn more about the featured DJs below!

- APAKI (EDM)

APAKI’s dynamic productions have captivated audiences with his infectious high-energy and stage presence, showcasing his love for the craft.

- BRYGHTSIDE (EDM)

When you tune in to a BRYGHTSIDE set, you can expect to hear sing-alongs, a blend of many different genres, and timeless club/festival hits.

APAKI and BRYGHTSIDE played back to back, taking turns spinning with each song.

- Jakob Mesina (R&B/Hip-Hop throwback)

Jakob Mesina is a Filipino American DJ and content creator based out of the San Fernando Valley. He brings a versatile open format turntablism style to his sets and is known for his series "100 Days of Scratching" and "100 Days of Mixing".

- Jasper (R&B/Hip-Hop throwback)

Originally from the Bay Area and now based in SoCal, Jasper is an open format DJ with a deep love for Hip Hop and RnB.

- Reinard (Today’s Hits)

Starting out as a mobile DJ in his hometown of Santa Maria, CA, Reinard uses his open-format sets to share a sense of cultural apprehension and impact.

- NOMS (K-Pop)

NOMS, a Korean and Argentinian DJ that's been electrifying audiences since 2012 with their K-Pop covers and DJ sets through social media, marking their journey as a versatile artist who bridges all things K-Pop, EDM and Anime.

As the MCs Kat Padlan and Gregory Edwards introduced our talented DJs, guests began to line up with their friends, parents, and children. Once the doors opened, all headsets for the event were dispersed, and the fun began!

Guests of all ages were exploring the different genres playing. Children began dancing to today’s hits as their parents were jamming out to their nostalgic throwback songs. Young adults held onto barricades as they head-banged to an EDM hit. The stage provided flashy visuals highlighting all the different genres.

From switching to the head-banging electronic channel, to the groovy throwbacks channel, and even doing choreography from iconic K-pop songs. Friends danced their hearts out together, but with their own choice of music. At one point in the night, guests of all ages were screaming the lyrics to You Don’t Know You’re Beautiful by One Direction.

As the event came to an end, everyone tuned in to the throwback channel, screaming Love by Keyshia Cole at the top of their lungs. At the end of Silent Disco, guests applauded for the DJs for an amazing event.

Silent Disco will not only be this night, but future nights at more locations! Be on the lookout for experiences at Arcadia and the Bay Area by following 626 Night Market on Instagram.
