Day Trip LA Pops Up at 626 Night Market OC

Recap written by Sahrang Han, Special Projects Coordinator.

The 626 Night Market brought back its stage collaboration with Day Trip, the house music-focused festival by Insomniac. The pop up DJ sets were highly anticipated after last year’s collaboration, which brought record-breaking attendance to the Night Market’s Costa Mesa location.

On the operational level, 626 Night Market learned from the high volume of traffic at last year’s takeover and adapted security protocols to ensure that this year’s collaboration ran smoother and was more rewarding for more attendees. This year, the Night Market team restructured the front entrance queue so that more guests were able to wait more comfortably - and safely - to get into the event. And at the main stage, members from various Night Market staff sectors were on standby to ensure that both audience members and talent had a smooth experience throughout the performances.

Although the line-up was kept top-secret on social media as well as onsite, the takeover gave 626 Night Market guests an accurate taste of what the Day Trip festival experience will offer. This year, Day Trip brought out seven acts: DOSES (Mike Galicia and DJ NIX); David Bullock; Max Low; a B3B set by Dillon Nathaniel, Kaysin, and Adam Auburn; and Bruno Furlan. The five-hour-long program filled the east end of the Night Market with vibrant house music all night!

626 Night Market will feature more stage takeovers and entertainment collaborations at our Arcadia events starting on July 5-7, so follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss the next one!
