#626StreetArt

Seeking to introduce a way for attendees to contribute to the night market, 626 was proud to present our very own #626StreetArt Art Wall! Amongst line art doodles decorating an otherwise blank canvas, Night Market guests got to let their creative juices guide them to decorate the 16-foot long installation. The wall made its debut at our Bay Area location, and traveled all the way down to San Diego the following weekend.

This project was curated by Special Projects Staff, Riland Simpao.

The canvas that drew people to draw!

Though the banner was originally completely uncolored, various food doodles and decorative motifs filled the space so that attendees had some help kick-starting their coloring. From cartoon replicas, to couples’ initials, to original characters, each and every person that interacted with the wall added an extra level of charm for the next person. By observing how attendees flocked to the banner, it was clear that the communal art piece was a very welcome addition to the Night Market activities.

The fun doesn’t stop here!

After an amazing time with how well the first version of our artwall went, we’ve decided to reboot the experience for our future events! If you’re looking to get your hands on some markers and draw memories with friends and family, be sure to come to our upcoming Arcadia 626 Night Market (8/30-9/1) and Orange County 626 Night Market (9/6-9/8)! Be sure to follow @626nightmarket on instagram for more updates about memorable projects like these.
