A Quiet Place: Silent Disco Makes its Final Mark on Arcadia
As the summer comes to an end, the party never stops! 626 Night Market brought back the fun-filled silent disco during K-Poppalooza, a themed-weekend centered around K-Pop. Following a K-Pop dance showcase and random play dance, Silent Disco featured a K-Pop genre for guests who love artists like BTS, LE SSERAFIM, and Girls’ Generation.
As soon as Silent Disco opened, guests were lined up to receive their headset to access the three genres of the night: R&B/Hip-Hop Throwbacks, Electronic, and K-Pop. Listeners were greeted to classic K-pop songs like “10 minutes” by Lee Hyori and EDM remixes to iconic K-Pop songs like “Super Shy” by NewJeans
The R&B/Hip-Hop channel had guests turned up with club hits like “Blow the Whistle” and “California Love.” The crowd slowly formed a dance circle, where guests “silently” dance-battled through each high-energized song.
Even after the random play dance, K-Pop lovers were still itching to dance along to their favorite tracks. In the Silent Disco, they grooved to songs like “Touch” by Katseye and “Midas Touch” by Kiss of Life. Groups of guests clustered up to perform the choreography to other songs that they love.
Near the end of the night, guests were seen flipping through channels, laughing. One screamed out: “Wait! They’re all playing Clarity!” In a well-organized prank, Mar, DJ Chen, and Rated E all played the iconic song by Zedd. The crowd cheered in unison as the song played through each person’s headset.
The night ended with crowds cheering and clapping, thanking the DJs for amazing sets.
